Mat deep cleaning · Oxfordshire & surrounding counties
The only kit every member touches with their face.
Your mats get mopped. They don't get cleaned. We deep clean and disinfect grappling mats properly — then hand you the readings that prove it.
Why a mop doesn't do it
Disinfectant can't reach what it can't touch.
Sweat, body oil and skin cells build into a film across the mat. Spray disinfectant onto that and it's spent before it reaches the surface underneath. It's not that gyms clean badly — it's that cleaning and disinfecting are two separate jobs, and almost everyone does one of them.
Soil disarms disinfectant
Organic residue neutralises the active ingredient on contact. The mat underneath never gets touched.
Contact time is the whole job
Every product needs to stay wet for a stated time to work. Spray-and-wipe removes it in seconds.
Fungal isn't bacterial
Ringworm is a fungus. Plenty of products that handle bacteria do nothing to it — which is why we buy against EN 1276, EN 1650 and EN 14476, not just the first one.
The thing nobody tells you
Bleach doesn't fix it. It makes it permanent.
Bleach is hard on vinyl and foam. Repeated use breaks the surface down, and once the top layer is porous it holds more contamination than before — so the strongest-looking option quietly turns a recurring problem into a structural one. It also voids most mat warranties. Everything we use is chosen to leave the surface intact.
What actually happens
Nine steps. The order is the point.
Run these out of sequence and you get a room that looks clean and isn't. Two steps carry most of the result — they're marked.
Survey
We walk the mat area first — surface type, condition, seams, problem corners, damage already there. You hear about existing wear before we start, not after.
Clear & inspect
Bags, pads and dummies out. Mats checked for lifting edges and splits — where contamination collects and where water can get underneath.
Dry debris removal
Industrial vacuum across the full surface and into every seam. Hair, tape and grit come out dry; anything left turns to slurry in the next step.
Detergent cleanThe step everyone skips
A pH-neutral cleaner across the mat to lift the oil and sweat film. This is what makes every step after it work.
Mechanical agitation
Machine scrubbed with soft pads to break the film loose without abrading the surface. Seams and edges brushed by hand.
Extraction
Soiled solution pulled off with a wet vacuum rather than pushed around. What we lifted leaves the building instead of drying back down.
DisinfectionFull contact time, no shortcuts
Even coverage at the correct dilution, then left wet for the full time the product requires. Never wiped off early to speed the job up.
Forced drying
Air movers until the mat is genuinely dry, not just dry to the touch. Damp mats under a stack of pads is how the next problem starts.
Verify & document
Readings at the same points as before, photographs of the finished area, and a written record of what was done.
Ninety seconds
See a room turned around.
From the last class finishing to the first one the next morning, on a mat area of about 150m².
Services
Two ways to buy it.
The clean is identical either way. What changes is whether you're calling us when there's a problem, or whether the problem stops arriving.

Discuss a programmeWhat you're left holding
Proof you can show people.
A clean mat looks identical to a mat someone mopped badly. The difference is whether you can demonstrate it — to a parent, an insurer, or a member who's just had ringworm.
Before & after readings
Surface measurements at fixed points, recorded at the start and again at handover. Same spot, twice.
Written clean record
What was done, when, with what, by whom. For your insurer, for inspection, and for the parent who asks.
Photographic set
The area documented before and after — including the seams and corners nobody usually looks at.
Condition note
Lifting edges, splits, worn surface, damp underneath — flagged in writing before it becomes a replacement bill.

Tell us the size of your mat area.
Square metres, surface type, and how many classes a week run on it. That's enough for a price. We'll come and look before quoting anything serious — and we'll say so if a quarterly programme isn't what you need.
